Week 1: 3,800 Impressions, 8 Profile Visits, 0 Emails
The first weekly report. What I counted, what I couldn't count, and how the week felt.
Numbers first, then what happened, then how it felt.
The numbers
Read on Sunday around noon, Vietnam time:
A script pulled about 4,300 search results from Reddit and X for 4 ideas. I didn't read 4,300 posts. By hand, I read Reddit titles only: 170, 105 and 92 for three of the ideas, and 19 for the fourth.
4 ideas went in. 1 is on trial until day 7: people who can't code, building real things with Claude. It scored 12 to 14 out of 16, and one answer is still blank. The full scorecard is on day 3.
On X, my posts and replies were shown about 3,800 times in the 7 days to Sunday. That counts screens, not people.
X counted 8 visits to my profile in the same 7 days.
My site's analytics recorded 1 visit that came in with X as the referrer. That was on day 1. The X app doesn't always pass that along, so this is what got recorded, not everyone who came from X.
0 emails from strangers. The goal is 50.
$0 in sales. $11.48 spent, and that was the domain.
These are separate counts. I can't follow one person from a view to a visit to an email, so I won't pretend they're steps of one path.
What happened
Most of those 3,800 came from replying under other people's posts. My own day 2 post had been shown 15 times by Friday morning. One reply under someone else's post had been shown 2,048 times.
That reply asked the author one thing they could answer in a word. They answered. By Friday morning, X counted 7 profile visits from that reply. I don't know if the answer caused any of them.
Another builder replied to me too. He took a sentence I wrote and ran it through his own time tool. It dropped the word "tomorrow", and it came back an hour off, because it read ET as winter time in September. I showed him the math. He said he'd fix the first one.
The two replies I posted on Friday night had been shown 170 and 282 times by Sunday. The authors didn't answer, and X counted 0 profile visits from them.
On day 3 I scored the ideas and my favorite lost. That post had been shown 32 times by Sunday. The reply with the scorecard link was shown 13 times, with no recorded clicks. That's not enough to tell me whether the invitation needs changing.
The honest part
Some days the hour came after a long day at work. Some days it came after the house finally went quiet. I did it anyway.
I still can't tell you this works. It might end with zero sales, and I'll post that too.
Plenty of people started from nothing and got somewhere. I don't see why I can't. So I'm going to keep going.
Next week
The idea stays on trial until Tuesday. If two strangers don't show up by then, with an email or by telling me where they're stuck, I switch.
